There's Still Time to Shape Your Community

It’s not too late to make a difference that lasts forever.

At your Community Foundation of White County, we believe in the power of everyday people to create extraordinary change. And thanks to an incredible 2:1 matching opportunity from Lilly Endowment Inc., your impact can go even further.

Here’s how it works: for every $1 you give to our unrestricted endowment funds, the Endowment will contribute $2—tripling your impact on the community you love.

This is your moment to shape White County’s future.

Whether you want to honor a loved one, invest in youth, strengthen local families, or support causes close to your heart, your gift becomes part of a permanent endowment that will uplift our community for generations to come. It’s not just a donation—it’s a legacy.

Unrestricted funds—like our Community Cares Fund and other named endowments—allow us to respond to community needs as they arise. These grants touch nearly every aspect of life in White County. This year, unrestricted dollars so far have:

  • Preserved local history

  • Supported veterans

  • Enhanced early childhood education

  • Fed hungry children and families

  • Improved classrooms

And still more to come, through our Community Cares, Leslie, and Mental Wellness Grant programs, we’re investing in efforts that will expand childcare access, reduce the stigma around mental health, build protective factors for youth, and so much more.

In fact, $50,000 has been set aside specifically for Mental Wellness Grants—open to a wide range of partners who want to be part of creating a healthier, stronger White County.

Our endowment is made up of more than 130 unique funds—each with a purpose, a story, and a dream for White County’s future. Of those, nearly a quarter are unrestricted—created by donors who trust the Foundation to respond to changing needs with care, strategy, and compassion.

You can give to any of our funds, any time, in any amount. Or, we can help you start your own named endowment—whether it’s a family legacy, a memorial, or a gift from your business.

This is an exciting time to give. There’s still time to shape your community.

Let’s build a brighter, healthier, more vibrant White County—together.

As we look ahead with excitement, we also pause with deep gratitude for those who believed in this mission from the very beginning. To our founding contributors and the generous individuals, families, and organizations who established our unrestricted funds—thank you. Your vision and trust have laid the foundation for a stronger, more resilient White County.

Because of you, we can respond to needs as they arise, invest in promising ideas, and meet challenges head-on.
