The Community Foundation of White County’s Youth Philanthropy Council is a youth organization focused on cultivating PHILANTHROPIC ENGAGEMENT and LEADERSHIP. Being a member of CFWC’s YPC is a distinguished opportunity to contribute to the community and build leadership skills. The YPC learns about grantmaking, builds their own grantmaking processes, markets their grant opportunity in their school communities, and reviews and makes recommendations for grants to CFWC's Governing Council. In addition to diving deep into the grantmaking process, YPC Members are required to complete 10 hours of community service each semester, continuing our mission of strengthening and transforming White County.
Representing all four White County schools, 26 students joined the inaugural YPC to work with peers from across the county to build leadership skills, learn about philanthropy, and identify and support projects that make a difference in their school communities.
The YPC began in January 2023 and is generously funded fully for its first two years through a regional cultivation grant from WABASH HEARTLAND INNOVATION NETWORK to empower the next generation of philanthropists and leaders. As the program develops, students will learn to raise funds to sustain this important work in the community.
