The Community Foundation of White County is thrilled to announce that we have met our ambitious goal of raising $375,000 in unrestricted dollars, thanks to the generosity of over 130 unique donors—families, couples, and businesses who all believe in investing in the future of White County.

A remarkable outcome of this campaign is the creation of 25 new unrestricted endowments (see full list below). Each fund tells its own story—some established in memory of loved ones, others representing families or honoring individuals who made a lasting impact. While the stories behind each endowment are unique, they all share a deep connection to White County and a common vision: to strengthen our community for generations to come.

Our campaign also inspired gifts from those who no longer live here but hold White County close in their hearts. For them, investing in the community that shaped their lives is a way of giving back to the place that raised them.

Why Unrestricted Matters

Unrestricted dollars fuel the community grantmaking program at CFWC, providing flexible funding to respond to emerging needs as they arise. Already in 2025, more than $130,000 in community grants has been awarded to organizations making a real difference:

·        Rural Homelessness Outreach at Lafayette Transitional Housing is providing stability and hope for White County families experiencing homelessness.

·        Maternal and Child Health programs at North Central Nursing Clinics are ensuring mothers and babies in our rural community receive the critical care they need, addressing one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the state.

·        The White County Historical Society is preserving the legacy of our farmers and heritage barns, capturing generations of stories rooted in the land.

These projects—and many more—are possible because of unrestricted gifts that allow us to meet community needs as they emerge.

Thanks to this campaign’s success, the Foundation will continue to support nonprofit partners doing life-changing work across White County—and with a growing pool of unrestricted funds, that impact will only expand. Together, we are filling gaps, nurturing strengths, and helping White County thrive, today and for generations to come.

Thank you to every donor who joined us in this historic campaign. Your belief in White County’s future ensures that our community will always have the resources to grow stronger, healthier, and more resilient.
