As classrooms come alive again with the energy of a new school year, your Community Foundation of White County is proud to stand alongside our educators, students, families, and youth-serving organizations to help make the upcoming year brighter for all.
Through grantmaking, scholarships, and leadership development, the Foundation is deeply invested in educational success throughout our county. We’re proud to partner with all four school corporations and many organizations working every day to uplift young people in our community.
Our Youth Philanthropy Council (YPC) is preparing to welcome its fourth cohort of local high school students this fall. Since its creation, YPC has awarded over $40,000 in grants directly into our schools to support classroom enhancements, curriculum updates, student-led initiatives, professional development, and more. Through this program, young people learn about community needs and the power of philanthropy—while making a tangible difference in their school communities.
Earlier this year, over $145,000 in scholarships were awarded to help students pursue higher education and career training. This robust and growing program ensures that our local students have meaningful opportunities as they prepare to enter adulthood.
Grants from the Foundation also continue to strengthen educational experiences across the county. More than $148,000 in grants supported educational efforts last year alone. These included expanding the Boys & Girls Club into a new site at North White—bringing critical academic support and enrichment programming to families—and sponsoring back-to-school events, like the supply drive hosted at First Baptist Church, to ensure all students are ready to learn.
Already in 2025, more than $28,000 has been awarded to support educational initiatives such as sending kindergarten teachers to a national training conference, providing literacy tools for English learners, and much more.
Whether it’s through mentoring young philanthropists, awarding scholarships, or supporting innovative programs and classroom tools, the Community Foundation is here to walk alongside our community as the school year begins.
Have a great idea for a classroom project or youth initiative? Let’s talk about it. Want to support education in a meaningful way? We’d be honored to help you create a lasting legacy. Learn more at www.cfwhitecounty.org or give us a call at (574) 583-6911.
Together, we can build a brighter future—one student, one classroom, one idea at a time.
